“There are no worst attitudes”, Politt’s “detestable” behavior at the head of the peloton strongly criticized

Tadej Pogacar teammate, Nils Politt was pointed out for his attitude during the first part of the 16th stage of the Tour de France 2025, this Tuesday. The German of UAE Team Emirates-XRGs vehemently attacked several runners who were trying to take the breakaway.

Nils Politt obviously did not only have made friends. This Tuesday, July 22, during the first part of the 16th stage of the 2025 Tour de France between Montpellier and Mont Ventoux, the German runner of UAE Team Emirates-XRG was strongly criticized for his attitude at the head of the peloton.

Tadej Pogacar teammate, Politt took care of the police during the breakaway attempts. On several occasions, he put himself at the height of the runners who were trying to attack to reprimand and discourage them, sometimes by barring their road to them. The goal of the German was clear: to make people understand that this step was intended for the big arms of the peloton, Pogacar in mind.

Voeckler: “Detestable attitudes when you take high runners”

Politt’s behavior was pointed out by Thomas Voeckler. “There is no worst attitude,” said the old yellow jersey on France TĂ©lĂ©visions. “It is often the teammates, and not the leader, who show up and say: ‘eh, small! You have not understood that it is the big ones who play today!’ I hate runners, under the pretext that they are stronger or in large training, who want to make their law.

Politt did not succeed in extinguishing the inclinations of the attackers. A group of 35 escaped first formed, before six runners, including French Julian Alaphilippe, stands out at the front to count 6 minutes ahead of the peloton about forty km from the finish. With a Politt and Uae Team Emirates-XRG in chase-patate, precisely what the German and his team undoubtedly wanted to avoid.
