These 2 equipment will become compulsory in all apartments in the heat

Too much is too much, the situation becomes intolerable for millions of French people who are already suffering from the heat wave in this month of June. This heat wave is particularly damaging for thousands of them whose accommodation is poorly insulated or live under the roofs. A new bill proposes precisely to remedy this problem with interesting solutions. Let’s take stock.

Two new compulsory equipment

It is quite rare to point out, several deputies belonging to different political edges have decided to unite in this bill. This is the case with Cyrielle Chatelain (Ecologist and Social), Lionel Causse (Together for the Republic), Emmanuel Grégoire (socialists and related) and Aurélie found (La France Insoumise).

The latter will defend this text this summer with the ambition of accelerating the energy renovation of kettles housing, that is to say those which are noted E, F, and G in the energy performance diagnostics (DPE).

Parliamentarians also wish to establish a new right for tenants. The latter “May require their lessor the installation of outdoor solar protections and air brewers in their accommodation”reports Capital.

“I feel like I live in an oven”

A measure that would clearly go in the right direction for the people concerned who suffer from the daily temperatures. This legislation also contains measures aimed at making the DPE summer comfort indicator compulsory on real estate advertisements in order to alert future occupants of accommodation.

It will be necessary to see if this law is ultimately adopted or not by Parliament. Anyway, there is really an emergency. Our sister presents the case of Vahagn, a student in Paris, who lives in a thermal kettle, and who can no longer. “It already made me think of the move, because it can be very difficult to live on a daily basis, especially with the heat waves of recent years. I sometimes have the impression of being in an oven. The worst part is the nights, since I sleep on a mezzanine, where the air is even warmer ”he deplores.

For your part, what do you think of this initiative, and do you believe that it goes in the right direction? Tell us in the comments.

What to remember:

  • The June heat wave worsened the situation for thousands of French people living in poorly insulated or under the roofs
  • A transpartisan bill aims to accelerate the energy renovation of the most vulnerable housing and to establish for tenants the right to require the installation of external solar protections and air brewers
  • The text also plans to make the display of the summer comfort indicator compulsory in real estate ads in order to inform future occupants about the capacity of the housing to resist heat
