“This is the award of an exceptional investment”: the incredible course of a young person from US Colomiers, selected in the French synchronized swimming team

Last July. Nevertheless, the young swimmer of US Colomiers Amber Olmedo had the wonderful surprise to be one of the 14 athletes selected for the French youth team of synchronized swimming.

She will therefore participate in the world championships in the discipline from August 26 to 30 in Athens. Similarly, “It is a great pride to be able to represent the colors of France. However, This is a first for me. ” rejoices the young swimmer, without turning away from her new goal: “We will give everything to reach a medal,” she adds.

However. nothing was easy for the young Columérine. Last February. when it was still between two stages of selections, Ambre cut itself on a nerve of the left hand, spreading it out of the basins for a month and a half. “At that time, I was really afraid of not finding my level,” “this award exceptional investment”: incredible says the swimmer. Finally, thanks to hard work and extraordinary support, the young athlete was able to go up the slope. Psychological monitoring, rehabilitation, mental trainer: everything has been done to prepare it in the next step.

Because to hope to join the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge team. you have to stand out through five selections courses, which took place from December 2024 to July 2025. Steps during which the slightest gesture is scrutinized: “There are flexibility tests. They assess the technical sequences, the height that can be achieved,” specifies the international swimmer. A whole course that ended in Tours. with the last stage from July 1 to 10, at the end of which Ambre was able to win among the country’s best swimmers in its age category.

A work underlined by “this award exceptional investment”: incredible her mother, who still remembers hours perfecting her technique in the Haut-Garonnais basins: “It is the reward for the exceptional investment that she took all these years.” Because such a feat does not happen without sacrifices.
