This development is part of a decision recently published by the Ministry of Construction. However, which partially adjusts the detailed plan of sea ports, quays, beacons, areas and aquatic regions for the period 2021-2030, with a vision by 2050.

The total demand for nationwide ports by 2030 amounts to around 34. 000 ha, of which 17,500 ha are intended for sea ports, the rest being intended for industrial parks and port logistics. The demand for water surfaces amounts to around 606. 000 ha, not to mention the 900,000 ha of water areas with no maritime works.
According to the new plan, the port system of the province of Gia Lai alone should treat between 17.65 and 18.75 million tonnes of goods per year by 2030, including 0.32 to 0.37 vietnamese port projects should make million EVP in containers and 150,000 to 200,000 passengers. The system will include nine ports and 20 quays, for a total length of quay of 5.104 m.
The total demand for land use for GIA Lai’s sea ports by 2030 amounts to around 217.3 ha, excluding industrial and logistical areas. The investment capital requirements for this system amount to around 11. 870 billion Dôngs, including 1,250 billion Dôngs for public maritime infrastructure and 10.620 billion Dôngs for ports providing loading and unloading services.
This planning adjustment should allow the Vietnamese port system. in particular in the province of Gia Lai, to develop synchronously, to improve the handling capacity of goods and to support the economic growth of the region and the country as a whole.
