Three people are in critical condition after a frontal collision between two vehicles on highway 20 in Coteau-du-Lac, in Montérégie, Monday noon.

The police of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called around 12:45 p.m. to go to Highway 20 for an accident involving two vehicles.
According to first information, a person lost control of his vehicle before crossing the central median and colliding with another car which was moving in the opposite direction and transported two individuals.
The three people involved in the accident were transported to a hospital center and the authorities fear for their lives, said SQ spokesperson Marc Tessier.
Highway 20 has been closed near Coteau-du-Lac to allow experts in reconstruction of the Sûreté du Québec to examine the places and determine the exact causes of this frontal collision.
