13 departments were placed in orange vigilance for Wednesday. Météo France alerts the possibility of locally violent phenomena.
After the heat wave, make way for thunderstorms! Météo France has placed several orange alert departments for the day of Wednesday June 25. 13 Departments are concerned: Lot, Cantal, Corrèze, Puy-de-Dôme, Loire, Allier, Creuse, Sarthe, Mayenne, Orne, Calvados, Eure and Seine-Maritime.
Violent thunderstorms are expected from the southwest to the north of the country, with an increased risk in the late afternoon and in the evening.
The first stormy cells should touch the northwest in the morning, before intensifying over the day. In the evening, locally violent phenomena are planned from the southwest to the Massif Central, until Normandy, before progressing northeast in the night and the morning on Thursday.
These thunderstorms can be accompanied by strong gusts of wind, hailstorms and intense rains. The population is invited to the greatest caution and to follow the evolution of the situation on the official website: vigilance.meteofrance.fr.
Two departments are also on orange heat wave: Isère and Rhône.
