8 listeners met on June 19, at the rural home, to listen to Elodie Carré Talking about the Tiger mosquito. Elodie Carré is animator and coordinator within the Permanent Center for Environmental Initiatives (CPIE) and mandated by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) to approach the problem generated by the proliferation of mosquito in the departments. It was received by Yann Ducournau and Anne-Marie Lousteau, municipal councilors.
Three themes were discussed in its intervention: the origin and the process of development of the mosquito (hatching of eggs, water and heat); The external prevention against the mosquito (remove any container that can keep the water, from the bottle cap to the underside of pots and watering cans; wipe as much as possible the small containers to remove the eggs glued to the walls; facilitate the flow of the waters; fill the cups of flower pots with sand …); Individual prevention (wearing loose and clear clothes, burn coffee in bowls and arrange them at ground flush, the mosquito flies). The ARS offers documents that can be obtained in town hall.
