According to information from our colleagues from the HLN, it is likely that the origin of the fire would be due to the pyrotechnic installations of the decor of the main scene. Since the start of the fire, the fire has quickly spread throughout the main scene.
Still according to our colleagues from Laatste Nieuws, the fire would have spread to a wood neighboring the festival site. A helicopter would also have spotted a second home. A few minutes later, new images appeared on social networks, showing the decor of the mainly charred main scene and revealing the metallic structure.
Some neighborhood houses had to be evacuated due to the proximity of the flames. A home would have been affected by a fireworks that was consumed.
A large release of smoke is also visible several hundred meters around. Residents therefore received a notification from B-Alert, asking for a farm the doors and windows of their home.
According to several sources relayed by Laatste Nieuws, Dreamville, the official campsite of the festival, is expected to open this Thursday, as planned.
Tomorrowland must start this Friday July 18 and last until July 20 and then, a second weekend from 25 to 27. About 400,000 festival-goers are expected on all two weekends.
