A series of complaints from consumers concerning the pricing of beach services in Tangier caused intervention by local authorities. In this context, a coffee located in the Achakar region has been the subject of an administrative closure measure for several offenses.
The targeted establishment, located on Bouhendia beach, was the target of repeated complaints for overcharging. Visitors had reported to the competent services an increase in drinking prices and dishes qualified as “vertiginous”, particularly marked during the summer season. It is the accumulation of these reports that triggered the action of the public authorities.

The survey conducted on site also revealed that this establishment operated without legal authorization. This closure is therefore part of a broader objective of the city authorities, which is to put an end to the illicit occupations of the public domain and to regulate the practices of “opportunistic resellers” on the coast.
