Nine steps, not one less. The Tour de France Women rides a notch for its fourth edition in 2025. Longer, more intense, more ambitious. This time, the large female loop is offered a ninth stage. A first in his young record.
On the program: a crossing of France from west to east, the port of Vannes in Brittany in Châtel, Haute-Savoie, between Saturday, July 26 and Sunday August 3.
A Breton departure with two first stages cut for the Plush, between the short climbs of Morbihan and Finistère. Then, head towards Angers, then Poitiers on a much flatter terrain, perfect for sprinters ready to take out the watts.
The mountain to finish
Climbers can be reassured, the mountain always ends up arriving. From the fifth step in the corrugated reliefs of the Creuse, the peloton takes altitude, towards Savoy, with a generous menu in perspective.
Highlight of the route? The legendary ascent of the Madeleine pass during the 8th stage: 18.6 km at 8.1 % on average, with a summit which tu 2,000 m above sea level.
Unlike the past year, no Huez Alps for the Grand Final of the Tour de France Women, but an equally full-bodied meeting in Châtel, in Haute-Savoie.
