Since its launch, the France Identity application has established itself as the spearhead of the dematerialization of official documents in France. The platform, developed under the aegis of the National Agency for Secure Titles (ANTS), aims to offer the French a secure and simplified access to their identity documents, driving license, gray card and, more recently, vital card. The new beta version, deployed at the end of June 2025, corrects several bugs, and perhaps convince (finally) to the usefulness of a massive adoption.
Ouigo tickets, gray card: an app for everything
Among the major new features of this BETA, the integration of support for Ouigo train tickets marks a decisive step. After the incredible and intercity trains, travelers can now justify their Ouigo reservation directly via the application, in the event of control on board. This additional step towards the unification of transport securities and identity documents on a single interface should the life of users at the edge of the summer holidays … provided that the agents concerned are aware of the novelty.
Another notable advance: the correction of a bug that prevented some users from importing their registration card into the application. A long -standing correction, which contributes to the continuous improvement of the service.
RENSED INTERFACE
The new beta is not limited to a few functional additions. It also introduces an overhaul of the home page, with simplified management of the different digital cards. From now on, driving license and registration certificate are grouped, facilitating navigation and quick access to important documents.
The beta version is accessible today upon registration (beware, places are limited) on iOS and Android. For the general public, the deployment of these new features will logically take a little more time. Beyond its practical aspect, the evolution of France Identity poses substantive questions on the management of personal data, the interoperability of public services and the digital sovereignty. The French State, focusing on a sovereign solution and in accordance with European standards (in particular the future European digital identity portfolio), intends to keep its hands on the security of sensitive data from its citizens.
