Tuberculosis: upsurge in new cases in 2023

On the occasion of the World Day to Combat Tuberculosis which is held on March 24, we take stock of this infectious disease. According to the WHO, around 8.2 million new cases of tuberculosis were diagnosed in 2023; The highest number ever recorded since the WHO began to follow the disease worldwide in 1995.

There are multiple attacks on this disease transmitted by the Koch bacillus, outside the pulmonary area: the urinary area, the meninges, the liver or the bones …
