“As part of its continuous efforts to optimize its operations and strengthen its focus on Brussels Airport (BRU), Tui has made the decision to stop all its operations to destination and from Liège airport from January 2026,” the tourism group said in a press release, confirming information from the specialized mobile site. The last flight operated by Tui Fly Belgium, planned from Liège, will take place on January 4, 2026.
“This decision follows an in -depth analysis showing that operations from Liège do not meet profitability expectations, with a limited potential for short and medium -term structural improvement,” said the group. This measure is part of the wider TUI strategy concerning its fleet, which aims to deploy planes where they offer the greatest commercial and operational efficiency.
“We received the official notification yesterday,” reacted Christian Delcourt, spokesperson for Liege Airport. “This decision marks the end of a long collaboration started in 1994, 31 years ago.” He recognizes that it is “a historical turning point, although TUI’s activity represented only a very limited, even film -coated part of the traffic at Liège airport mainly focused on freight”.
According to the spokesperson, a few dozen jobs could be threatened.
