Twelve young Basque athletes committed to the French future championships

Contested in Saint-Etienne, the French future championships are completing the season for the best cadets, juniors and hopes. Having his qualification was already a first performance for the Basque athletes in this championship which brings together the future of the tricolor athlete.

Basque Country Athletics (PBA) presents two regulars in this national championship, two juniors: the perchist Nio Jimenez and Pierre Anel on the 110 m hurdles. Objective ? Try to play the final. For this, Nio Jimenez will have to go beyond the 4 m 70s crossed in Saint-Sébastien during the Inter Pyrenees trophy. PBA also aligns a neophyte: the youngest Lilou Cardona, on the 400 m hurdles.

Aviron Bayonnais is counting on its two javelin specialists: the Junior first year Merine Choice and the hope Julian Lhome. The first year Junior Alexandre Leroy will face the best runners of 800 m of his generation. The Ascain club will bet on its young cadets, including Nahia Rodriguez in long jump, where with 5 m 93, it holds the second French performance. We will also follow Iban Ricourt Legros at the pole jump, Thomas Marrin and Kepa Dufau at the throw of the disc, Lili Arocena at the launch of the weight, without forgetting the hope Laida Regerat at the javelin throwing.

Medalists

Basque athletes have already shone by winning national podiums. With the master of Ascain Wilfrid Bartowski, French champion at the disc launch (with 47 m 07) and third of the weight throw (with 12 m 44) during France in Saint-Renan (Brittany), in June. He will participate in the European Championships in Madeira (Portugal) in October. Another beautiful perf, this time to put the assets of the very promising duo U16 Louis Guirao-Firmin Ménanteau (PBA). These two great hopes were bronze medalists at France by team in May, then silver medalists with New Aquitaine during the French League Cup. Guirao will end his season with the bronze of France U16.
