Three people were killed on Saturday in southern Lebanon during two strikes by Israeli drones, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced. The Israeli army claims to have “struck and eliminated” two “terrorists”.

(Keystone-ATS) Israel regularly bombes Lebanon, especially the south of the country, despite a ceasefire that entered into force on November 27 to end hostilities of more than a year, including two months of open war, against Hezbollah. The Lebanese movement supported by Iran came out very weak.

“We respected the agreement [de cessez-le-feu]while the Israelis did not do it, “Hezbollah chief Naïm Qassem said in a television speech on a television speech. Citing an Israeli attack on the day before, he added that “all these acts” were “completely unacceptable […] The State must put pressure and assume all of its responsibilities ”. “Everything has its limits,” he said.

The same day, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said in a statement that a first strike of drone attributed to “the Israeli enemy” targeted a vehicle in Kounine, killing a man and injuring another.

South of Lebanon still busy

The Israeli army confirmed that it had carried out this operation, claiming to have “struck and eliminated terrorist Hassan Muhammad Hammoudi in the Kounine sector”. According to her, the man was “responsible for the Hezbollah anti -tank missile system in the Bint Jbeil region” and directed “many attacks with the help of anti -tank missiles against Israeli territory” during the recent war against Hezbollah.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health also reported a second strike of Israeli drone which targeted a motorcycle in the locality of Mahrouna, in the Tire region. She killed two people, including a woman, and injured a third, according to the press release.

The Israeli army said it “struck and eliminated the terrorist Abbas al-Hassan Wahbi in the Mahrouna region, south of Lebanon”.

“Wahbi was responsible for intelligence in the Hezbollah’s ‘Force Radwan’ battalion. The terrorist was involved in efforts to rebuild Hezbollah and in arms transfers. These activities constitute a blatant violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon, “she said in a statement.

Under the ceasefire, Hezbollah had to withdraw its forces and dismantle any military infrastructure south of the Litani river, about thirty kilometers from the Israeli border.

The Israeli army, which was to completely withdraw its troops from Lebanon, however maintains five positions which it judges strategic in the south of the country.
