Bus at La Récousse
Two months of disruption to retype a central axis of the BAM
Traffic on the railway between Morges and beer will be hampered and sometimes stopped until the beginning of September.
For two months, rail traffic will be disrupted between beer and Morges, due to work from Bussy-Chardonney (above). Trains will even stay at the station from July 23 to August 17 and will be replaced by buses.

- Large works have started in the middle of the beer-Apples-Morges rail network. They will last until September 4.
- If the measurement only affects a reduced perimeter, it will cause major disturbances since the trains will no longer circulate for a month.
- Replacement buses are planned to guarantee the usual traffic of travelers, the MBC company also took advantage of the school holidays to lead this project.
The regulars of the “little” train BAMBetween beer and Morges, will have to be attentive to schedules this summer: the line will be upset for two months. From last Sunday and until August 17, substantial work has been carried out on the track between Bussy-Chardonney and Yen, two sites that have already been the subject of recent XXL renovations.
The first phase of this site runs until July 23 and includes only night work aimed at installing a drainage system along the tracks over about 1.3 km, in order to ensure better evacuation of rainwater, in addition to the stability and sustainability of the track. The trains are replaced by buses every night from 9:30 p.m. (9:18 p.m. even for the train from Apples).
An essential site for MBC
From July 23, the site will gain another magnitude: the path will live a complete repair over 1.5 km, which is regularly the case in summer. From ballast to the electric line, including the renewal of switches and rails, everything will be updated. The three level crossings (Etraz, Landi and Bussy) will be renovated to “ensure a secure and comfortable crossing”, explain the MBC.
A year ago, in the summer of 2024, the Yen station had been the subject of a complete renovation of its infrastructure. It is now the portion between this station and that of Bussy-Chardonney which is the subject of a heavy intervention.

“This project is one of the regular maintenance and modernization of the network. It is necessary to guarantee the safety, comfort and reliability of future traffic, ”adds the company.
If the work concerns only a small section, the whole line will be affected. “In order to carry out these interventions safely, it is essential to trigger the power supply of the lines concerned,” specify the MBC.
Railway without electricity
The whole network has indeed been powered since Morges, according to a system on the antenna. “This means that electricity has been circulating from Morges to beer and Isle, without an intermediate supply point. When you have to cut the diet on the Morges-Apples portion for safety reasons, this can result in the interruption of all lines. ”
These measures “essential to guarantee maximum security for teams in the field” will therefore affect the users of the line. If the work runs until September, the last tranche (from August 18 to September 4) will only lead to disruptions for night trains on weekdays.
