“The lid can be ejected with force, which has serious risks of impact and laceration when a consumer tries to open bottles after having stock of food, soft drinks or perishable drinks, such as juice or milk, inside for a long time,” reads government advice.
Two people lost their lives following accidents related to this problem. A third consumer would also have undergone facial injuries due to a force ejected with force.
The targeted bottles have been sold in Walmart branches across the United States as well as on the company’s website since 2017.
