Rain like we haven’t seen it for a long time. Details.
It is a fact, the province had a particularly dry August a month. In places, the lawn has become yellow, from Montreal to Quebec. It must be said that the National Capital Region has only seen a handful of rainy days in the past three weeks. Worse still, the metropolis has only recorded three days with significant quantities of rain since the beginning of the month, which is largely under the monthly normal of 11.2 days. However, a reversal of the situation is essential.
Contextual
This weekend, a hollow chafouin at altitude was invited in the province, accompanied by a mass of fresh and unstable air. Temperatures were less than those recorded the day before and this fresh diet should last at least until the next weekend on Sunday. That’s not all; Solid showers are expected.
On Monday, the system will cross the province to affect most regions and it could generate active time. Violent thunderstorms could produce torrential rains, strong gusts and small hazards, among others on the side of Bas-Saint-Laurent, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and North High Côte.
Up to 50 mm
The imposing Monday’s depression system will continue its journey and shade the northern and East regions on Tuesday. In total, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Bas-Saint-Laurent could receive up to 30 mm by Tuesday. As for the Capitale-Nationale and boiler-appalanches region, accumulations could reach 40 mm. However, the Palme d’Or would return to the North Shore, which could receive more than 50 mm. In southern Quebec, accumulations will be less: the metropolitan region should not receive more than 15 mm since the showers will be essentially isolated.
