A 35-year-old man suffered significant injuries when he was shot on Tuesday evening in the Ville-Marie borough in Montreal. A suspect was arrested informed of the night.
The emergency services were called around 9:35 p.m. to go to the intersection of rue Tupper and avenue Seymour. The victim, who presented ball wounds on the upper body, was then transported to a hospital center.
On Wednesday morning, the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) reported that the man was in a stable state in the hospital, despite the important injuries he suffered.
The suspect in this case fled before the arrival of the police, but he was found around 4:20 a.m. Wednesday in an apartment on Tupper Street.
“The suspect, whose identity is currently unknown, will be transported to the investigation center, where he will be met by investigators during the next few hours,” said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, who is a spokesperson for the SPVM.
At the start of the day on Wednesday, the circumstances surrounding the event remained unknown.
“Checks will be made at the possible surveillance cameras located near the premises and the survey is underway,” added the Chèvrefils agent.
