Violent thunderstorms announced in the Rhône, weather alert triggered: risk sectors

A new salvo of thunderstorms possibly violent. Météo-France placed the Rhône department in yellow vigilance thunderstorms, like almost all of France, for this Wednesday, July 23. A last day of thunderstorms for this month of July before days which are still very rainy in the coming days.

Yellow alertness is active From 4 p.m. on Wednesday and until 9 p.m. Other neighboring departments are also concerned, Ain, Loire and Isère.

“Thunderstorms will be more numerous in the afternoon and can be locally active (heavy rain, hail, gusts of wind close to 70 km/h)”, explains Keraunos, the French observatory of tornadoes and violent thunderstorms.

But hard to say where the most violent thunderstorms will fall, the phenomena will be located and are difficult to predict several hours upstream.

After a calm morning, risks of thunderstorms are therefore announced by Météo-France across the Rhône, Beaujolais (Trades, Beaujeu, Belleville), the Villefranche-sur-Saône sector, the Metropolis of Lyon, the west of the Rhône (Tarare, Thizy, L’Arbresle) or the Plaine de l’Est Lyonnais (Pusignan and its sector).
