The Vosges roads were again bereaved this Saturday. One woman died and two other people were slightly injured. It was at the exit of the RN59, in the direction of Raon-l’etape, on a particularly accident-causing departmental road 259 which connects the fast track to the entrance to the city, that a violent accident between two cars occurred around 2 p.m.
According to the first observations of the authorities, a first Renault brand car, which came out of the fast way and in which a driver and his passenger from Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines were located, made a gap in one of the turns of this section, leaving its way.
The Seat gray vehicle arriving opposite and led by a woman from Taintrux, could not avoid the shock, which occurred at the level of the right of the Renault car.
Twenty firefighters mobilized
Despite the arrival of help, the passenger, a 24 -year -old woman, died. The other two people involved, his 31-year-old companion and the other 42-year-old motorist, were quickly transferred to Saint-Charles hospital in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges.
The drama mobilized about twenty firefighters, from the brigades of Saint-Dié and Raon-l’Etape, eight gendarmes of Saint-Dié and Raon-l’etape also and the Smur de Saint-Dié. A breakdown service was also on site.
For the time being, the precise causes of the accident are not established and a judicial investigation has been opened to allow us to understand the circumstances of this drama.
A deviation for several hours
The section in which this accident took place was closed entirely to traffic for several hours. Deviations have been put in place at the level of the entry of Raon-l’etape and the quarries of Trapp, diverting the motorists by rue Aristide-Briand.
At 4 p.m., it was still impossible to circulate on this portion.
This is the tenth fatal road accident on the roads of the Vosges since the start of the year.
