“I think I will have an important declaration to make on Russia on Monday,” he said in a telephone interview with the NBC channel, without giving more details.

“I am disappointed by Russia, but we will see what will happen over the next two weeks,” he said against the backdrop of intensifying Russian strikes on Ukraine and diplomatic dead end.

Donald Trump had accused the Russian president on Tuesday of saying “a lot of bullshit” about Ukraine, while suggesting that he wanted to impose new sanctions on Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to demand a strengthening of American sanctions against Russia.

Although Mr. Trump had a spectacular rapprochement with Moscow at the start of his mandate, his comments reflect his growing frustration with regard to his Russian counterpart, who continues his relentless offensive despite calls to a ceasefire.

According to NBC, the American president also mentioned an agreement concluded with NATO to facilitate the sending of American weapons to Kyïv.

“We send weapons to NATO, and NATO pays for these weapons, 100%. What we do is that the weapons that go out to NATO, then NATO will give these weapons [à l’Ukraine]and NATO pays for these weapons, “said Trump, two weeks after a NATO summit in the Netherlands in which he participated.

“We send weapons to NATO and NATO will reimburse the entire cost of these weapons,” insisted Trump, citing in particular the upcoming sending of Patriot’s anti -aid defense systems via this agreement.
