The French training Saint-Michel Preference Home Auber 93 played on Monday the third stage of the Tour de France women 2025 with two less runners. Lucie Fityus and Ségolène Thomas arrived out of place at the end of the second day between Brest and Quimper. The tricolor team should finish this women’s tour with five runners.
“It’s complicated for us,” sighs Alison Avoine. The runner of the Saint-Michel Preference Home Auber 93 training keeps, despite everything, a smile this Monday at the start of the third stage of the 2025 women’s Tour de France in La Gacilly. “Unfortunately, we don’t have a margin and there is not too much right to make mistakes. It is really sad because we lose our climbing for mountain stages and our sprinter for the days that arrive. Afterwards, this is not the first time that we have seen a complicated start to the round and however, we end it very well. This year, it will be the same thing,” relativizes Alison, 25 years old. Because the day before, on arrival in Quimper, his two teammates Ségolène Thomas and Lucie Fityus finished in the offset. In particular, the fault of a virus. “Ségolène has been very sick for a few days before the round. Yesterday (Sunday), Bichette did what she could, she really drew on her resources,” said Alison.
Sunday evening, difficult for the team after these two abandons. “To be five so quickly over the nine days, it is certain that it was complicated during the meal. The atmosphere was not incredible, but we keep the motivation, we keep the course. We are still five, there are still beautiful things to do,” adds Alison Across. “There have been many tears. Mentally, you had to comfort the girls. We must keep the course. As we say, we worked so hard for that that we cannot let go. We’ll see,” said Elyne Roussel.
“You have to keep the positive”
The tricolor team should therefore end this Tour de France women with only five runners, hoping to avoid other misadventures. “It is true that it is a little complicated. It was not our best day. We must really adapt. We know that on the Tour de France, one day, it can be fine and the next day, it can be all the opposite. So here you have to go above. We have to keep the positive. We’re going to stick together and we’re going to finish at five Sunday evening. We have no choice. It’s a very special race.
For her first Tour de France, Emilie Morier surely expected another scenario. She, who, a month ago, was an amateur runner and former member of the Triathlon team. “We are a small team, we know, there is often breakage, and in addition we had bad luck with us, so it does not forgive. The turn only increases the level, density. There has been a virus, unfortunately, if we are not 100%, we do not arrive at the end. Or we arrive at the end, but not the time, It’s hard to accept, but it’s the game, it’s the high level, and if it would be easy, everyone would be there, “recalls Emilie. The Frenchwoman points to 70th place in the general classification, more than twelve minutes from the favorites. “Beyond satisfaction, I tell myself that I have a large place in the team, I was the last selected”. And precisely, everything will now rest on her and her four teammates until the end of this tower. “Touched but not sunk,” smiles Emilie Morier.
