“We will not tolerate anything”: Bruno Retailleau warns “the barbarians” on the eve of Chelsea-Psg

A month and a half after the coronation of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, which had given rise to a night of overflows and dramas in Paris and elsewhere in France, Bruno Retailleau sends a warning before the final of the PSG club World Cup on Sunday evening, against Chelsea.

But whatever the outcome of the match, the Minister of the Interior redoubled caution when setting up an exceptional device to supervise possible overflows in the capital. “There is a conjunction of two events: the PSG-Chelsea final in New York and the day before July 14, where we know that every year there are disruptors who come to break and loot, so we have a very large device,” he said on the sidelines of the 8th stage of the Tour de France.

“The prefect of police spoke: no rally will be tolerated on the Champs Élysées,” he developed. We are going to mobilize 11,500 police and gendarmes (in Paris) for the weekend. In the whole of France, in Paris and in the provinces, we will have to secure a lot of events. No less than 53,000 police and gendarmes will be mobilized tomorrow (throughout France), 65,000 for July 14. These are extremely massive devices. »»

“Police and gendarmes have a instruction: to tolerate anything,” explains the Minister of the Interior. Make sure that those who come to use this pretext to deploy their violence, those I called the barbarians, are prevented. It’s complicated, because there is determination, but we will have a substantial level of strength and we will not tolerate anything. »»
