According to a report by TF1, a Facebook group has just been created to bring together the victims of these “ghost braking”. The hundreds of members tell their experience there that could even have turned to drama. According to Joanna, who created this group, “these are recent vehicles”, out of the factory “between 2017 and 2025”, she notes, and these “ghost braking” would be caused by “the presence of driving aids, and more particularly braking aids and therefore associated sensors”. However, she suggests that “causes are multiple”.
An upcoming investigation
However, no manufacturer has yet reacted. The Ministry of Transport ensures that it has taken up the problem, says here. “The ministry will question the manufacturers and carry out testing to understand if there is an anomaly, or not”.
