While the heat wave alert was launched on Friday, here are some refuges in the fridge, between rivers, urban oasis and museums.

This is the quest for the moment: finding a cool place to escape the heat wave. The city of Geneva and the municipalities offer several alternatives. Non -exhaustive overview.
Swimming places
In addition to the municipal pools and paddles, the canton has 35 natural bathing points, identified on a carte interactive from the Geneva terroir. Part of these addresses are now accessible in public transportation, thanks to Line 29.
Do you prefer nature? Go to the edges of the area, the Drize, the Versoix or the Allondon, where you can couple swimming with a cold drink at the refreshment bar from the Nature Center of the Allondon valley.
Cinemas and museums
To flee the heat while cultivating themselves, direction museums – in particular the Ethnography Museum (Meg), whose semi-buried configuration offers additional freshness-as well as dark rooms. Note that seniors living in the town of Geneva have free access to the CASA CASA, NORD-SUD and CITY in the afternoon during the heat wave alert.

Places of worship
These buildings are often fresh and open environments. The St-Jean-Baptiste chapel in Perly-Certoux, for example, is open to the population during heat wave alerts. Books are notably available there.
Urban freshness stops
The city of Geneva has equipped its public space with shaded spaces with benches and vegetation on six locations including various arteries of the Pâquis. Giant foggers are installed on A dozen sitesincluding the island quay or the Plainpalais skatepark.
