Who is the boss of the INA arrested for the purchase of cocaine in Paris?

“I am aware of the character in all harmful and condemnable respects of the consumption of narcotics. I have set up the essential system aimed at putting an end to it and will submit to any obligation that justice will consider it necessary,” says the respondent.

A graduate of Sciences Po, HEC and ENA, the fifties had been appointed head of the INA in May 2015 after a previous scandal. The former owner Agnès Saal had to resign at the request of the Minister of Culture at the time, Fleur Pellerin, after the revelation of taxi costs exceeding 40,000 euros in ten months.

Renewed last May

So since 2015, Laurent Vallet was renewed last May for a third term of five years at the head of the INA, on the proposal of the Minister of Culture.

Before taking office, Laurent Vallet began his career in 1995, at the Treasury Department (Ministry of Economy and Finance) before joining in 1999 France Télévisions as a project manager with the presidency. Then he joined political spheres by entering the office of the Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry in 2001, where he worked on culture and audiovisual files.

From 2002 to 2015, Laurent Vallet held the post of Managing Director of the Institute for the financing of cinema and cultural industries (IFCIC), credit institution aims to facilitate access to credit for cultural businesses.

In 2013, he presented to the Minister of Culture and Communication a report on relations between producers and broadcasters, advocating to simplify and adapt the legislative and regulatory framework of these relations. Laurent Vallet also has the rank of officer of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2013. He was promoted to grade of commander of the order of arts and letters In 2019.
