A video of a car show has relaunched the debate on XXL screens in cars. Cadillac pushes the concept to the extreme with a giant slab and an integrated HD camera. But is it really useful?
Still not recovered from the Round steering wheel of Tesla or augmented reality windshield that disembarks among the manufacturers of visors? Wait in seeing what Cadillac offers. The American manufacturer continues to bet on the major technological spectacle, even on its thermal models. In a time when brands compete to reinvent the driver’s interface, some cross a course. And sometimes it surprises.
A short video posted on X shows the dashboard of the Cadillac Escalade 2025, equipped with a 55 -inch curved screen and an on -board HD camera. Presented at the AutoExpo2025, the sequence highlights an image quality which even exceeds what the human eye perceives, according to the original post. In reality, it is an OLED slab covering the whole dashboard, coupled with a system of Vision Surround Cameras. The visual return is broadcast live on the latter, but some Internet users point to its limited use: no image processing in the event of rain, no autonomous functions.
2025 Cadillac escalade’s 5.5-inch high-definition dashboard camera captures the road with crystal clarity-highlighting details even your eyes might miss.

The Cadillac Escalade 2025 displays the road on a giant 55 -inch screen
Cadillac talks about a “high clarity” display capable of capturing every detail of the road. But several users on social networks wonder: is it a real advance, or just a tape-to-is gadget? The camera could be useful to record journeys, but it is not yet used for autonomous driving. A user even regrets that it only serves to display a live flow, without danger analysis. Others see it as a simple demonstration of technological strength.
Faced with this, other brands like BMW explore another path with augmented reality windshields, such as the Panoramic Vision of the SUV Vision Neue Klasse X. Tesla, for its part, prefers to bet on total autonomy. Cadillac, with its escalation, clearly targets a luxury, giant screen and absolute comfort clientele. For the moment, this model will not be sold in France, where the brand puts rather on its electric SUV Cadillac Optiq, less imposing and much more suitable for our roads.
