Windows 11 has a new audio feature he should have had since its launch

Shared audio could finally land in Windows if we believe certain indiscretions. The very practical feature was surprisingly absent from Windows for all this time.

Windows 11 is still lacking in features that have existed for many years for certain use cases for many years. This is the case of shared audio, an option which in theory allows to broadcast music on several audio devices.

Until now, Windows 11 did not allow this multidiffusion to be made, while it is made possible by version 4.0 of the Bluetooth standard released in 2010.

But Microsoft would be on the verge of filling this lack for users who demand such a functionality since the launch of the OS in 2021.

Shared audio arrives (soon?) In Windows 11

Once is not customary, it’s chief ramp @phantomofearth which has unearthed the functionality from the Dev and Beta of Windows versions for insiders.

He simply discovered a new quick parameter linked to the audio shared (shared audio), making it possible to broadcast audio on several audio devices simultaneously. It works with Bluetooth wireless devices, but also with wired peripherals such as speakers connected to a sound card for example.

Depending on the shared screenshots, it is necessary to check the various devices detected to broadcast audio on each of them. You can of course connect more than two devices, even if the menu will ask you that two at its launch.

The only condition for taking advantage of this feature will be to have Bluetooth 4.0 devices, the version of the standard that has introduced multiple connections.

Regarding a leak, it is not yet known when Microsoft intends to deploy this very practical and frankly awaited feature.
