Windows 11 is faster than Windows 10 and Microsoft says it

Microsoft has tested more than a dozen PCs to claim that Windows 11 is systematically faster than Windows 10. Elly results to take with tweezers, however.

It is a pivotal year for Microsoft which redoubles its efforts to convince users to go from Windows 10 to Windows 11. If the previous version of the OS will be supported by the firm, under conditions, it is in October 2025 that the support will stop for the general public.

In a new exercise to convince undecided, Microsoft now details performance gains offered by Windows 11 in several areas: autonomy, performance, web navigation, office automation.

Unsurprisingly, Windows 11 would be faster than Windows 10 in all the firm tests. Here is what Microsoft claims in his article.

Microsoft demands higher performance for Windows 11

To perform this test battery, Microsoft was based on ten laptops from Dell, HP and Samsung. The latter are all based on an intel chip ranging from the Intel Core 6th generation to the 13th generation. No PC with AMD processor has been tested, Microsoft does not hide from advising Intel fleas for Windows 11.

According to Microsoft, Windows 11 would be 2.7 times more autonomous than Windows 10 according to a 1080p video reading test locally via its Windows Media Player player.

Using the geekbench 6 benchmark tool, Windows 11 PCs would thus be 2.3 times faster than Windows 10 in multi -year scenarios.

In web browsing with the Speedumeter test tool, performance would be 3.2 times faster on Windows 11 with the Microsoft Edge browser.

Finally, the performance of the Office suite would be doubled on Windows 11 compared to Windows 10, Microsoft based on the Benchmark UL PROCYON Office tool.

Results to be taken with caution

Here we use the conditional, as always with tests from the manufacturers themselves. Microsoft specifies having carried out several test loops on each of the PCs with a 95%confidence interval.

Most of these tests are based on benchmark tools, except that concerning autonomy. It will be useful, as the end of Windows 10 support approaches, to carry out real condition tests on recent software and games.
