Works and closings: here are the roads to avoid in Montreal this weekend

Circulating in Montreal and its surroundings this weekend may put the nerves to the test, because obstacles are planned on several roads. Here is what to avoid.

Several tracks will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, until 5 a.m. on Monday. Here are the road axes concerned by these closures:

  • West direction, between rue Houde and avenue Sainte-Croix, 1 route open to 3
  • Direction is, at the level of the Lucerne / avenue Sainte-Croix, 2 lanes open on 3
  • On the avenue Sainte-Croix Nord, under the A-40, 1 track open on 4

The tunnel will be completely closed from 11 p.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday, at the 90 exit from the A-20 West in Longueuil and at the 5th of the A-25 South in Montreal.

To go north during these hours, detours are possible towards exit 82 of the R-132 west, and by the city center exit to rue Notre-Dame du Pont Jacques-Cartier.

In the south, detours are accessible via the Hochelaga, Dickson, Notre-Dame, Papineau avenue and the Jacques-Cartier bridge.

The pride parade will lead to the complete closure of the René-Lévesque boulevard between the Guy and Atateken streets, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Pont Laviolette-A-55 / Trois-Rivières and Bécancour

Despite the end of the periods of intensive work, the interventions continue at night according to the following schedule:

  • From Friday 8 p.m. to Saturday 11 a.m.

The REM remains closed until August 17 due to work for the next commissioning of the network. Several options are available to users who must move between the South Shore and the Montreal city center.

A-10 / R-132 interchange / Samuel-de Champlain bridge

In Brossard, the strap to the R-132 west in exit 6 of the West A-10 is closed until 6 a.m. on Saturday.

Route 132 / Varennes

The R-132 between rue Quévillon and the Picardy climb remains closed until the end of August.

Highway 40 / Terrebonne (Lachenaie) and Charlemagne

A redevelopment of structures takes place between the Charles-de Gaulle bridge and the A-640 until the end of September. Traffic is deflected at all times, but 5 out of 6 can remain available, depending on the tip:

The access to Chemin de la Pointe-Nord, the Boulevard de l’Île-des-Sœurs, from rue Jacques-Leber to the West A-10 and the city center are closed until September. Detours are accessible to the North A-15 and towards exit 60 towards Boulevard Gaétan-Laberge.

In addition, 1 route out of 3 will be closed by direction at the Peel basin and the Victoria bridge until December.
