Xiaomi unveils its Flip 2 mix with a world premiere: a 5165 mAh battery on a foldable flap smartphone.

In China, Xiaomi has just unveiled its Mix Flip 2, a foldable flap smartphone that breaks several technical records. World first: a 5165 mAh battery in a valve format, where competition is struggling to exceed 4000 mAh.

From 5999 yuan (713 euros), this ” Full Score Small Fold “According to Xiaomi promises” an experience comparable to a premium phone “. An ambition that places this foldable directly facing the Galaxy Z Flip, but also the iPhone in the premium segment.

This technical feat is accompanied by a 4.01 inch external screen and a photo partnership with Leica. Xiaomi seems to want to correct all the defects alleged against the flap foldables: limited autonomy, too small external screen, disappointing photo quality. All in a chassis of only 199 grams, unfolded by 7.57 mm thick.
Autonomy record: 5165 mAh unpublished on a valve
The battery ” Xiaomi Jinshajiang »Of 5165 MAH is the real revolution of this mix Flip 2. This capacity exceeds more than 1000 mAh the best foldables with current valves, confined around 4000 mAh for reasons of congestion. Xiaomi claims an energy density of 843 WH/L thanks to 10 %silicon technology.

This technology solves the main reproach makes foldable flap smartphones. Limited autonomy often obliged to recharge in the middle of the day, handicapping daily use. With 5165 mAh, the Mix Flip 2 promises autonomy comparable to traditional, even superior flagships.

The 67 W wired fast load accompanies this big battery, which would allow a full full in less than an hour. The 50 W wireless load, still rare on foldables, completes a very successful energy set. Xiaomi also integrates cooling ” Tidimensional Double VC To maintain performance during intensive loads.
4.01 inch external screen: finally usable on a daily basis
The 4.01 inch external screen in material ” luminescent M9 »Constitutes the other major asset of the Flip 2 mix. This diagonal finally allows real use without unfolding the smartphone, according to Xiaomi, unlike the microscopic external screens of certain competitors. The maximum brightness of 3,200 nits also ensures perfect readability outdoors. Here, this is certainly the score of a peak in HDR.

More importantly, this screen supports more than 500 popular applications according to Xiaomi. The interface allows the editing of office applications, the multitasking, the visualization of albums and the vocal assistant ” Super Xiaoai“. Xiaomi really wants the external screen to become a real smartphone, to reduce the need to unfold the device.

This approach responds to recurring criticisms of the usefulness of valves with valves. If the external screen remains anecdotal, the concept loses its interest in the face of conventional smartphones. With 4.01 inch fully functional, Xiaomi seeks to offer a credible alternative which justifies the foldable format.
Leica partnership to catch up with photo delay
Xiaomi is betting on Leica to correct the weak photo weakness of the flap foldables. The Bicamera system combines a 50 megapixel “main sensor” Light Hunter 800 With optical stabilization to an ultra large 50mp also signed Leica.

The “Light Hunter 800” sensor promises improved low light performance. Optical stabilization, rare on valves for reasons of congestion, should considerably improve the quality of photos and videos. The ultra-angle 50 megapixel equals the best current flagships. On the other hand, no telephoto lens.
Premium chassis and new generation hinge
Finally, the design of the Mix Flip 2 is focusing on the premium with a central frame in frosted metal and a micro-incurred screen on three sides. The glass ” Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 »Protects the whole in a chassis of 199 grams.

The new hinge “at Quille Xiaomi” adopts a ” Structure with three levels + four floating plates »first in the sector according to the manufacturer. This mechanism aims to reduce the wear of the central fold, Achilles heel of foldable smartphones. Xiaomi claims a ” Average depth of folds less than 50 μm after 200,000 folds« .
The flexible glass of 6.86 inches and 50 μm thick team the main screen. This finesse would improve the tactile sensation while reducing the visibility of the central fold.
But for what price?
From 5,999 yuan (around 713 euros) for the 12 GB + 256 GB version, the Flip 2 mix is positioned well. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 starts at 1199 euros, 40 % more expensive than the Chinese price of the Xiaomi.
Model | China price | Estimated Europe Prize | Battery | External screen |
Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 | From 5999 ¥ (€ 713) | ~800-850 € | 5165 mAh | 4,01″ |
Galaxy Z Flip 6 | – | 1 199 € | 4000 mAh | 3,4″ |
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra | – | 1 199 € | 4000 mAh | 4,0″ |
The range extends up to 7299 yuan (868 euros) for the 16 GB + 1 TO version, remaining under the Samsung or Motorola entrance rates.

The original flip mix being marketed in France, the Mix Flip 2 should logically follow the same trajectory. Xiaomi now largely distributes its flagships in Europe, and this PREMIUM foldable is part of this geographic expansion strategy. An autumn 2025 launch seems likely.

The European price will however remain to be confirmed. Xiaomi generally applies an increase of 15-20 % compared to Chinese prices to cover European taxes, distribution and guarantees. The Flip 2 mix could thus start around 800-850 euros in France, which would certainly remain very facing the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and probably also facing Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fe.
