Your Samsung smartphone hides a secret Wi-Fi menu, here’s how to activate it

Do you know that your Samsung smartphone has a secret Wi-Fi menu? Called Connectivity Labs, it gives access to additional functions and information, we explain how to activate it.

On our Android smartphones, some parameters can be hidden by manufacturers. The latter can estimate that few users need them and do not want to have them crumble under the options, already numerous. In other cases, it may be critical systems adjustments to which the ordinary mortals should not have access to avoid data loss, or even damage the device.

ZDNet tested one of these functions hidden on Samsung smartphones. This is Connectivity Labs, a menu dedicated to Wi-Fi. It is not new. It has been mentioned a few times on the Samsung forums in recent years. But almost no one is aware of its existence.

How to activate Connectivity Labs on Samsung smartphones

Connectivity labs gives precise information on the use of Wi-Fi connection and on Wi-Fi networks associated with the smartphone. Among all the available features, three stand out:

  • One of them allows Quickly switch to mobile data When the Wi-Fi is not effective. This often happens when you use a public network. The smartphone then juggles between mobile data and Wi-Fi, but always very optimally. With this setting, priority is given to mobile data.

Here is the procedure to follow to open Connectivity Labs:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Press Connexions, then on Wi-Fi
  • Press the three points in the upper right corner, then select Intelligent Wi-Fi
  • At the bottom of the page, press the software version (intelligent Wi-Fi 7.0.0 currently) seven times)

The secret menu must now be displayed at the bottom of the page. Your smartphone must have one UI 6 or a later version to access it.
