The inhabitants of the whole country are looking for well -paid and quality jobs.

France also remains one of the main destinations of immigrants, ranking behind Germany and Spain for the total number of arrivals from the EU and the outside, according to Eurostat. So what are the best paid jobs in France? What are the professions that offer the highest wages, and what are the average annual income for the highest jobs in France?

Euronews Business Explore the best paid jobs in France, based on two complementary sources that light up different dimensions of the labor market.

● Net wages monthly for 2023 of the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) (they were converted into annual figures by multiplying the monthly values by 12). These figures only concern employees in the private sector and exclude those who work in the public sector.

● Job offers from the Global Recruitment Company Indeed, covering annual gross wages from May 2024 to April 2025.

The most remunerative sectors in France

Five main sectors dominate the top 50 of best paid jobs in France according to INSEE.

  • L’aviation Arrives all sectors with an average salary of 111,600 euros, thanks to the functions highly specialized in civil aviation, in particular the pilots.
  • Business positions, such as executives and directorshave an average salary of 92,000 euros, the highest among the multi -function sectors.
  • The sector of health Follows with 84,600 euros, including dental surgeons and non-hospital doctors.
  • The sectors legal et financier Also rank in the lead, with an average of more than 70,000 euros.

Managers and executives are at the top of the highest paid functions

By looking at it, we realize that, without surprise, Managers of large companies with 500 or more employees are at the top of the listwith an average annual net salary of nearly 200 000 euros. They are followed by executives of the financial markets (132,000 euros), administrative, financial and commercial executives of large companies (127,200 euros) and managers of medium -sized companies with 50 to 499 employees (123,600 euros).

All of these functions declared average net salaries greater than 120,000 euros in 2023.

Technical and commercial officers of civil aviation technical and commercial – including line pilots – also exceed the 100,000 euros mark, with annual net salaries of around 116,000 euros.

There are only five jobs whose average annual net salary is more than 100,000 euros.

Lawyers (99,600 euros) and technical directors of large companies (98,400 euros) approach the threshold of 100,000 euros.

Dental surgeons (87,600 euros) and non-hospital salaried doctors (81,600 euros) are also among the ten best remunerated jobs in France.

Engineers, in various functions, including management positions, are also well paid in France and are well represented in the list of the first 50. The information technology sector is also in good place among the best paid jobs.

Despite the general impact of digital upheavals on the media, newspaper directors, press administrators and publishing directors – in the literary, musical, audiovisual and multimedia sectors – remain well remunerated, ranking 22nd with an average annual net salary of 57,600 euros.

In addition to lawyers, lawyers are also in the top 50 with an annual salary of 51,600 euros.

These figures represent average wages, and not medians, which means that the range can be very wide in certain sectors, especially when experience plays an important role.

Job offers: dentists dominate the highest wages

Job offers published on Indeed are also useful for observing the recent evolution of wages. However, they reflect raw wages (before deductions), unlike the net figures provided by INSEE.

Dentists come first with the highest annual median salary (95,000 euros), followed by orthodontists (78,750 euros).

In the technological sector, network architects receive 72,361 euros, while medical agents in the health sector earn 70,000 euros. Average wages are also indicated in the table below.

An official of compliance in the production and manufacturing sector earns 67,500 euros. Domaine manager and sales agent positions follow, with respective wages of € 65,000 and € 64,855. The consultant in digital transformation and the mechanical designer earn € 62,750 and € 62,500.

Several positions declare identical median wages of € 60,000, including the engineering director, the real estate seller, the operations director, the senior sales representative, the customer manager, the production director, the human resources director, the architect Cloud and the loan brokerage advisor.

The profession “doctors and surgeons” is excluded from all of indeed data, which justifies a distinct analysis.

The best paid new jobs

If some jobs emerge, others are gradually disappearing. Artificial intelligence has already started to reshape the labor market and the skills requested.

“Over the next 5 to 10 years, we plan that green energy, AI/GENAI, cybersecurity and biotechnology will produce new best -payed employment titles,” said Pawel Adrjan, Director of Economic Research at Indeed, in Euronews Business.

“Posts such as the Ethician of the AI, key roles in sustainability, Genai engineers and climate data analysts gain ground and are likely to reach higher wage levels as the demand for expertise specialized in these areas increases,” he added.

Mr. Adrjan also pointed out that frequenting a leading university can certainly improve job prospects and salary potential. However, he added that recent trends observed on Indeed in the United Kingdom and France indicate that formal education requirements appear less frequently in job offers – in particular in high skills areas such as IT and data science – indicating a progressive change towards a skills -based hire.
