Marius Borg Høiby suspected of having committed 3 rapes and 20 offenses, the royal family reacts

Friday, June 27, after ten months of investigation into Marius Borg HøibyNorwegian police have delivered their conclusions. The eldest son of the heiress princess Norwegian Mette-Marit is suspected of having committed three rapes and twenty offenses. His file is now in the hands of the Oslo prosecution, which will decide to initiate, or not, prosecution against him.

The profile of Marius Borg Høiby began to interest the police on August 4, 2024 when arrested after violating his partner of the time in an apartment in Oslo. He recognizes the accusations and apologizes on television. He says he acted under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, while promising to resume his treatment against drug addiction “very seriously”.

The arrest of the 28 -year -old young man encourages others of his former companions to speak to testify in their turn of abuse and violence. In September of the same year, he was arrested for violation of a protective order and then again the following month for accusations of rape. He spends a week in detention. “Cooperant” with the police, he was heard fourteen times in the fall and then in the spring of 2025.

In the conclusion of his investigation, the Norwegian police criticized him a rape committed “with penetration” and two “without”, as well as a list of twenty offenses, including criminal sexual behavior, mistreatment in the context of a close relationship, damage to physical integrity, threats, violations of restrictive ordinances, voluntary damage and road offenses. According to his lawyer, Ellen Holager Andenæs“Many of these cases are purely harmless”. The case of rape is liable to a three-year minimum sentence, she adds to NRK.

The police relied on numerous interviews with witnesses, analyzes of digital documents, coupled with searches. Three cases were undoubtedly classified for lack of evidence and two others for prescription reasons. The royal family has not been questioned, explains the same media, because the police consider that their possible statements “would contribute very little to shed light on this case”.

Marius Borg Høiby “takes the accusations very seriously,” reacted his lawyer Petar Sekulic in the columns of Times. He added that his client “recognized any reprehensible act in most cases, in particular cases of abuse and sexual violence”. If he were to be charged, the son of the princess “hopes to be acquitted”.

Marius Borg Høiby, who never wanted to blend into the mold of royalty, has no official title or role, which did not prevent him from being warmly included in the family circle. Born from the Mette-Marit link with Morten Borgcondemned for acts of violence and possession of drugs, he grew up with his mother until his marriage to the Crown Prince Haakon of Norwayin August 2001. The royal family commented on the last revelations through a press release transmitted to this same media. “The case takes its course in the legal system and normal procedures. We have nothing to add. ”
