A major fire is underway in a building in the district of the Southwest, in Montreal on Sunday.
More than 100 firefighters were deployed to respond to this fire of “fourth alarm” launched in a three -story residential building, located at the Hadley and Cardinal streets, reports the media guard of the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SIM).
The incident has not injured any injuries, despite the flames still in progress.
This building has nine housing units, according to the land assessment role of the City of Montreal.
“I saw a lot of people go out from behind with their pets. A man started running out of his house on Hadley Street to bang to all doors to notify people to get out while the firefighters arrive, “said Aurélie Drin Lefebvre, who lives a few steps from the burned building.
According to this resident, the fire “has grown very quickly” and spread in a neighboring housing building.
The authorities pray to the population to avoid the places of the intervention, which started around 7:16 p.m.
