Two years ago, life made sure that a new team was parachuted at the controls of the outfit in the country of Réal Massé. This season, which was their first with the complete management of operations, proved to be a great success.
“We really took control. As much last year with the death of my stepfather, Réal, we had been caught up in deprived, this season we are really in command, explains Gilles Huet who is now heading the outfit in the company of his spouse Nancy Massé Huet, his daughter Stéphanie and his spouse Karina Odily. For fishing, why change a successful formula?
“As for fishing, we follow the same recipe that we have learned in the past. We always go there with our seeds. If we trust the comments that there is on the Facebook of the outfitting, it is incredible. People are really very happy with the continuity of the outfit. They are always there, even more marked than what we had hoped for. »»

Like everywhere else, Dame Nature afflicted them with her excesses of heat at times.
“Currently, we are in a more difficult period on my little lakes because of the heat wave that has just passed. The water has warmed up very quickly. The fish went down deep to get a temperature that suits it better. On the large lake, fishing has always been very good because the water does not warm up as much. »»
The whole team does not hesitate to get involved to help fishermen succeed.
“When you fish trout or all other species, you have to adapt your technique according to the period of the season. For example, there are people who arrive at home currently and who want to fish with fly, without having a calassing silk to get the fish where it is or at least one end on their silk. Surface activities are only there an hour, when the sun rises. After that, the fish turns to the depths, from 18 to 24 feet, in our lakes. They must therefore be presented with the bait at the right water depth. We help our new fishermen a lot. »»
Snowmobile
For the entire outfit team, there is hope for the future.
“We are here to explain to people how it goes during the different months of the season. We keep confidence in the future because young people and families are there. We have reached an average of 85 %customers, among which we find this new fisherman segment. We met with passionate fishing teens, who spend part of the summer fishing in small streams. We really have a great succession at the outfit. It was really superb to see these young people with us. »»
As of September 20, the end of the pheasse hunting weekends will start.
“We are going to offer four end of pheasse hunting weekends, which can become hunting and fishing combos. Fishing is open to the outfit in September. »»
The snowmobile will make a comeback this winter.
“We will be back. We had a meeting with the president of the Saint-Charles-de-Mandeville club, to discuss the path and make sure that the outfitting is accessible this winter. If the snow is there, we will be there. »»
It should also be mentioned by finishing that the meals served at the outfitting have reached a higher level.
“Since our daughter Stéphanie joined Chef Éric Croussett, the improvement of meals served has been confirmed. Just read customer comments to find that we have reached a new summit. We really have the wind in the sails. »»
