“2 CV aeroglener” and “403 catamaran”: two unique devices to discover at the Cassoulet festival in Castelnaudary

essential
Unidentified floating devices come back on Saturday to enchant the public.

It is enrolled in the Cassoulet festival of Castelnaudary: Saturday August 23, between 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., activities on land and on the water will take place quai du Port de la Commune. The level of aquatic games was set very high, in particular thanks to the hellish quartet: Charles, Claude, Gilbert and Claude.

Like the three musketeers – who were also four – these inventors swapped the sword against the keystone key. These retirees prove to be real virtuosos of the welding station and the paint pistol. The public, expected in number for the occasion, will be able to admire two unique devices. Should they store them among cars, boats or aerogle meters? They must be classified in the ideas of genius that have turned into reality to the delight of all. Charles Saccona, Peter Yates, Gilbert Vidal and Claude Cathala are certainly endowed with their hands, but they also have brains that work a hundred an hour. Who could imagine a “2 aeroglery CV” or a “403 catamaran”? The four musketeers of course.

L’over tune

The four friends decide to participate in the European rally of the 2 CVs provided for in Cap d’Agde, but in their own way. They will present a 2 CV mounted on an aeroglener, equipped with a GS engine. A completely crazy bet. The aero is recovered from the side of Orthez, a carcass of 2 CVs in Lautrec, before the race for exchange begins. The car, its base and all the parts were in a deplorable condition. It was then that the genius and the address of the quartet did wonder. And guess who was the queen of the Cap d’Agde rally?

By seeing this “Deuch” evolve, both in the dunes and in the water, the public was conquered, because everyone was informed that this “2 aerogling CV” is unique in the world. A similar mini Cooper had been designed in England, but it no longer works and is only a museum piece at the Hovercraft Museum in Lee-On-the-Solent in Great Britain.

La Columbo Boat

Another crazy idea, but indeed made: put a “pick-up” on the water. As for the 2 CV, titanic work was necessary. Parts research, restoration and above all reduction of the entire structure since the machine had to go on the water. Equipped with an electric motor to be able to navigate the water bodies where the atmospheric engines are prohibited, then mounted on catamaran floats, the “Columbo Boat” was born.

If this name escapes the youngest, the others will immediately recognize the reference to the famous Inspector Columbo, hero of the cult police series of the 70s, is obvious since the latter was traveling in old 403. Today, this “car-caitamaran-camonnette” can transport up to seven people in complete safety.
