Samara was 24 years old, she was 7 months pregnant.
It is not in France that the hospital is in crisis. In Spain too, the situation is very tense. And the “extreme” cases of not or badly treated people multiply.
This Monday, our colleagues from Diari de Girona reveal the complaint of a Catalan family against the Llerena hospital, near Badajoz.
According to this family, the hospital was guilty of negligence which brought the death of their daughter Samara, 24 years old.
The facts date back to the end of last year. 7 months pregnant, Samara is taken from stomach ache and vomiting. It is then logically that she heads for the hospital emergency services. Between October 11 and December 28, Samara was sent home with the same diagnosis each time: a gastroenteritis.
Identifications
Except that things degenerated. Samara returns to the hospital at 10 a.m. She is sent home three hours later but was forced to return there at 6 p.m. Under surveillance all night, she undergoes exams the next morning which reveals that the child she was waiting for was dead. His state continues to get worse. According to her mom’s words, she lost consciousness and “Dried in his own vomit”.
15 minutes after the alert, health personnel practiced emergency maneuvers. 45 minutes later, the death of Samara was found. Cause of death: peritonitis.
