The Ikongo district is faced with an alarming resurgence of malaria cases. In response, the government has deployed a series of emergency actions, according to the statements of the Minister of Communication and Culture, Mara Volamiranty Donna, also spokesperson for the executive.
Under the leadership of President Andry Rajoelina, an intersectoral mobilization has been launched, involving the health authorities, the National Risk Management and Disaster (BNGRC), the technical partners as well as the local authorities, she explains.
The Ministry of Health has sent medical teams with drugs and CVO doses on site, with the aim of providing quick and effective care to affected populations.
In parallel, awareness campaigns are carried out to encourage residents to adopt prevention gestures, such as the use of impregnated mosquito nets, the refusal of self -medication and the immediate recourse to health structures. The BNGRC now provides logistics and operational coordination with the many doctors mobilized in this emergency operation.
In addition, social actions and collective cleaning operations have been undertaken, while the safety devices have been reinforced in the affected areas.
This health response has accelerated following the descent to the field of three members of the government, explains the Minister of Communication. It also made it possible to recall the importance of transmitting fair and verified information to the population, stressing that only responsible communication will allow rumors to be countering and ensuring effective management of this health crisis.
