The young Namurois Maël Debondt has found a new challenge. The Belgian international U18 has signed a contract with a Ligue 2 stable.
It’s official, Maël Debondt leaves the Gantoise to join the Stade de Reims. The young Belgian talent will first evolve in the Pro 2 group, in National 3.
The Namurois was trained at Sporting de Charleroi before joining Anderlecht. In 2023, he initialed his first professional contract by joining the Gantoise.
Last season, he played with the U18 Elite on nine times. He played eight games in the U18 Elite championship, and one in the play-offs at the end of the year.
The young talent of 18 years pronounced his first words in his new colors: “It is an honor for me to join the Stade de Reims. Integrating a large French club will allow me to challenge myself and to see how far I can go.”
“Fast and technical defender, the young Belgian also distinguishes himself by his ability to bring danger in the opposing camp. Qualities which have earned him to be regularly called in national selection from the U15 with the Red Devils,” specifies the club which has just designed in Ligue 2.

The 18 -year -old young left back joins the Reims stadium from Kaa Gent (Belgium).
