From the 1stis July, Olivier Sandra is the president of the research center Inrae Île-de-France-Versailles-Saclaysucceeding Egyptian Valceschininow retired. Biologist, doctor of reproductive physiology, Olivier Sandra joined INRA in 2001 after post-doctorates in Germany.
He distinguished himself by his work on theUterine endometriumnotably offering the concept of endometrium “Sensor-Driver”, now resumed in medical assistance to procreation. Within INRAE, he held scientific management functions, in particular the UMR Biology of Development and Reproduction, then within the Phase Department, while getting involved in the ethics and scientific integrity networks. It is also active in several French and international learned companies.
The mission of Ile-de-France-Versailles-Saclay mission
The center Inrae Île-de-France-Versailles-Saclay groups together 23 research units and about 2,000 peoplewith activities covering biology, agriculture, ecology, food and social sciences. The appointment of Olivier Sandra embodies “the articulation between scientific commitment, collective responsibilities and human values”. He is a post for a period of four years.
