Werchter ends badly for a hundred festival -goers: they had to spend the night in a station

About 70 to 100 festival -goers had to spend the night in Louvain station on the night of Thursday to Friday, after the first day of the Rock Werchter festival. In question: their late arrival, after the departure of the night trains provided by the SNCB.

Since this year, the railway company strictly applies the schedules, in order to avoid delays and technical problems. Three night trains are nevertheless chartered each evening of the festival, leaving an hour and a half after the end of the last concert. Thursday, Linkin Park’s show ended at 01:00 am; The trains left at 2:30 am.

Of the 1,600 people with a ticket for the night train, almost a hundred did not arrive on time, despite a waiting period deemed “ample” by the SNCB. These travelers had to wait in the station until the first regular train in the morning. The Securian security service ensured their supervision overnight.
