The International Center for Research against Cancer (CIRC) celebrates its 60th anniversary this year but in a tense economic context. This is why this specialized agency of the World Health Organization, based in Lyon, is launching a large campaign of call for donations, “to finance its research which, for 60 years, makes it possible to understand the causes of cancer and to prevent the disease on a global scale: vaccination strategies which save lives in the identification of environmental and genetic risk factors”, specifies the Circ in a press release.
“The means to act”
“With a minimum donation of 60 euros, you will give researchers from I Circ the means of acting and continuing to develop effective prevention strategies all over the world, including in the most vulnerable countries. To register this gesture over time, donors will be able to register their name or that of a loved one concerned by the disease, on the walls of the center, located in the Biodistrict of Lyon-Gerland, “specifies the agency.
The Circ being recognized by the French authorities as an organization of general interest, it is donation deductible from taxes up to 66 %. A donation of € 60 therefore amounts to 20 € after tax exemption.
