This competition, of which it was the third edition, carried by the Mixed Syndicate for Management of the Crau Nappes, the Symcrau, had the theme life in the trees of Crau. It was intended for two age groups: 6-8 year olds and 9-10s, with 9 participating classes, 6 committed municipalities and 250 students who tried their luck.
The results were proclaimed in the course of the Jean Moulin 1 school, Tuesday, July 1, in the shade of a barnum, very useful with these scorching temperatures.
Philippe Ginoux, mayor of Sénas, was very complimentary and proud to welcome the representatives of the Symcrau and these winners: “Through your beautiful drawings, you highlight the usefulness of trees within our territory but also the precious aspect of water, its use wisely. You are the first ambassadors in order to effectively fight against its waste. These distinctions are a great pride for all Sénas schools.”
The animation of a Natura 2000 zone
For Céline Tramontin, president of Symcrau, it was also an opportunity to mention the missions of the union, including that around the Natura 2000 zone and its animation, with young audiences precisely: “A huge congratulations to all the participants in our annual competition. It allows them to confront such an inspiring subject, our crau!“
She believes that this competition makes sense. More generally, it has been part, for four years, of an increased campaign of awareness of the Natura 2000 aspect of CRAU, through several educational tools, a dedicated film, a 3D wooden model, animation boards on housing, fauna and flora, pending an annual outing for elected officials and technicians, through a new three -year plan of Symcrau.
