Atalanta Bergame is activated to constitute a competitive workforce for next season and explores in particular French terrains. The name of Diego Moreira, left winger of Strasbourg, with Portuguese origins and holder of a Belgian passport, insistently returns to Zingonia, according to Italian sources. It is considered one of the largest talents in Ligue 1.
Moreira is officially under contract with Strasbourg, but is part of the network of clubs linked to Chelsea, co -owner of the French club. According to the specialist in the transfer window Matteo Moretto, the Atalanta has already asked for information about it and followed its situation closely. The Italian club sees in it an interesting option for the left flank.
But Atalanta is not alone on the spot. Other Serie A has also been interested in the player. This competition complicates the operation, especially since Strasbourg does not seem in a hurry to sell, and that Chelsea could have his say.
Atalanta wants to strengthen its left corridor
Moreira comes out of a solid season with Strasbourg, with 32 games played, 1 goal and 7 assists. He distinguished himself by his liveliness, his technique and his ease of dribbling, qualities which perfectly correspond to the dynamic style advocated by Gian Piero Gasperini on the wings.
With its dual nationality, Moreira also has an international interest. He has already played for the youth teams in Portugal, but his Belgian nationality offers him another sporting option.
The Atalanta clearly seeks to strengthen its left corridor this summer. With the possible departure of Mitchel Bakker and the increased competition internally, the profile of Moreira, promising, creative and impactful, corresponds to the needs of the club. The next few weeks will say if Bergamo goes concretely to action or if another club is ahead of Atalanta in the race for one of the most promising young wingers in Ligue 1.
