The volunteers of an association discovered in Brooklyn 115 dogs in a woman’s “house of horrors”, found dead.
“Let us ensure that their next chapter is that of love, comfort and dignity.” During a “massive rescue”, which she tells on Facebook, the Animal Carers (ACC) association in New York recovered more than a hundred dogs, who lived in the “House of Horrors”, where their owner’s corpse was also found.
Alerted by neighbors, the authorities have indeed discovered in the apartment the lifeless body of Eileen Horn, a 73 -year -old woman who lived there with her sister. According to several witnesses interviewed by the New York Post, they lived without electricity. The causes of the death of the septuagenarian were not determined.
But it was not the only surprise macabre that awaited the police. In the apartment, 110 living dogs were found and taken care of. Five others were already dead, says the New York Post. Recovered by the association, the dogs were able to be cleaned, shaved and neat.
“Many were sick, frightened and covered with dirt,” read the publication of ACC.
“Conditions inimaginables”
“They were very nervous, but I think they are very happy to get out of this smell and to be shaved – many of them had tangled fur, which is really painful, because it pulls on the hair of their skin,” said Katy Hansen, director of communication of the association, interviewed by the American newspaper.
The animals, who lived in “unimaginable conditions”, are mostly consanguums, she adds. 68 of them have already been placed in volunteer host families, explains the association. The others are waiting to be.
“Some of them were born in this house and have never seen the light of day, they will therefore need time to regain confidence,” adds Karen Lecain, who works for another association, compassionateatee animal rescue efforts (care) of the neighboring county.
