9 smartphones go at the end of life without updates

Nine Xiaomi smartphones have just officially achieved their end -of -life status (EOL). This decision means the final stop on software and security updates for these devices. In this article, we read the models concerned. Also discover the implications for users as well as highlighting the strategic context linked to Hyperos 3.

A end of the course for several ranges

The models concerned include three entry -level devices: Redmi A1, Redmi A1+ et Little C50. All three had been launched with MIUI 13 on Android 12 And have not received any major update since. Their software life cycle was therefore limited to the essentials, as often for this range, now leaving users without security patch.

The intermediate range is also touched with the Redmi 11 Prime 4G et Little m5. These models, however launched with Android 13 or 14 and Hyperos 1, did not benefit from constant software monitoring. Their sidelines confirms a well -known scheme in Xiaomi. A drop in update frequency is often the warning sign of an end-of-life passage.

Finally, even the 2021 smartphoneslike the Xiaomi 11T, 11 T Pro, Mi 11 Lite 5G Ne et Mi 11 leare concerned. Despite a good follow -up until HyperOS 2 et Android 14they will no longer receive changes or corrective. This decision therefore marks the end of a cycle for still efficient smartphones, but now frozen in time.

A strategy turned to Hyperos 3

This change coincides with a broader transition in Xiaomi’s software ecosystem. The company seems to have ended the active development of Hyperos 2 to devote itself to Hyperos 3, expected with Android 16. This new version promises an optimized interface, improved visual effects and better general performance.

The models now at the end of support will not receive Hyperos 3. The brand seems to want to focus its resources on its next generations of smartphones, including the Xiaomi 16 series. This should inaugurate this new version of the system.

The end of life of these nine Xiaomi smartphones marks an expected but crucial transition. Users will now have to consider a change of device to benefit from essential updates.
