Gathered Wednesday evening in Brig-Glis, party members unanimously elected Urs Juon, said the latter in Keystone-Ats on Thursday, confirming information from the Walliser Bote.
Former president of the commune of Törbel for twelve years (from 2013 to 2024), member of the municipal council since 2009, the Haut-Valaisan has been a deputy for the Grand Council Valaisan since 2017. He was the only candidate chosen by the selection committee at the succession of Franziska Biner.
Born in 1972, Urs Juon is a surveyor engineer by profession.
“Occupying this position is a great challenge,” admits Urs Juon. “Our party is well positioned in the center. It is moderate and oriented towards solutions. I am convinced that he still has great development potential thanks to several political talents that garnish our ranks. ”
