A message in a bottle, launched to the sea in September 2012 in Newfoundland by a Canadian couple, was found more than 3000 kilometers further in Ireland.
A couple who walked on a beach in the Bay of Scraggane, in Kerry, Ireland, found the bottle and read the message there, according to the English media The Guardian.
“Anita and Brad walked around Bell Island today, on September 14, 2012, they read. We appreciated a supper, this bottle of wine and at the end of the island. ”
“If you find this bottle, please call us the phone number below,” we add.
The two Irish people tried to join the couple by phone, but to no avail.
They therefore turned to Facebook and managed to find Anita and Brad by publishing a call to everyone, who quickly became viral.
Anita is a nurse and Brad has just retired from the Canadian Armed Forces.
They now have three children.
The couple, who got married in 2016, remembers the day, during which they threw the bottle into the sea.
“We were a young couple in love,” said Brad, at the Irish radio station Rté. Now we are an older couple in love. We are happy that this story is shared. We hope to return to Ireland soon. ”
However, he was surprised to see the extent of the enthusiasm around their history.
“It was a 48 hour crazy,” said Brad in an interview with The Guardian. It was a Monday evening and I was sleeping our youngest boy and my phone rang many times. I heard Anita laughs in the other room and she said to me “You’re never going to guess that”. “
